They would have broken a heart or two...
We woke up to more puke.
If there is one thing that motherhood has taught me, its to ask for help when I need it. So Grammy came with me to take Piper to the doctor and good thing. The moral support factor alone was needed, though she helped with much more than that.
They were an hour behind schedule.
Piper cried almost non-stop.
Despite the fact there is a stomach virus going around and Josh has had some symptoms,
the Dr. asked for a urine sample.
Which in itself was an epic adventure in which Grammy's help was vital.
The Results?
Urinary Track Infection and Dehydration.
Apparently the crying is a sign of dehydration. There was no distracting her, she just went on and on and on. And if she wasn't crying she was restless or lethargic.
Grammy got the sample back to the doctor, waited for results and then ran all over Alamosa tracking down the meds. and foods needed.
As well as some cute new shoes for Miss P.
Thank you Grammy!!!!
By Friday she was already better. The crying stopped by noon and then with each sippy cup she got better and better. She wouldn't eat really, but hey - at least she was drinking.
Aunt Charlie came to visit on Saturday and by then it looked like the poor girl had some hardcore teething going on (Piper that is ;-)
But by Sunday afternoon all was well. She is eating again, playing and making us laugh.
feeew....what a week!
She's lost a bit of weight, but with the way she ate today - I think she'll gain it back quickly.
Off in the distance there is Aunt Charlie and Josh taking Piper to her park.
Piper took to Aunt Charlie quickly. Kisses after just meeting her.
She wasn't so sure at first.
But after some big pushes from Daddy...
She found her smile.
