Mellow Moxie Meets the Pool

And felt so comfortable she decided to take a little nap.

Moxie needs some more love on teething days, which I don't mind. But we've also started the well loved shush-pat this week. Being almost 3 months she's all but been living in the swing ( we turn it off when she falls asleep) the car seat or being worn. Nursing to sleep was taking far too long so something had to give.
I was a little worried about how to pull it off with Piper, but so far so good.

Piper has this little duck she gave Moxie.

Moxie LOVES it.

She laughs and talks to it.

I have a Lovey in the wings, but for now the duck is a constant friend.

Last week, thanks to Mimi and Papa, I got back to dance and Josh is back to jujitsu on Thursday nights.

In Grandpa's arms no shush-pat needed.

Lessons

Z came over with a toddler ballet video.

Piper was into it, but a bit more free spirited about the whole thing.

She's doing a ballet-belly dance fusion

And having a blast!

In addition to ballet she also learned how to wash crayon from the wall and that toys do not belong in the toilet.
But she knew that one already.

Teething

Ya... It's pretty much official

Moxie is teething

Don't let her fool you though

Other than some wake ups, drool and lots of snuggles

So far she's pretty mellow about it.

Catipillars and Ballerinas

Oh yes... I didn't forget. But I kinda did.
Teething.
Moxie is still pretty mellow with it. But short naps and a constant need to be worn are on our agenda.
It's been tough keeping Piper entertained and quiet while I try to get Moxie used to napping in her room.
But we're working it out.
In other news about "working things out" Piper has finally learned to blow her nose.
Gross but very necessary! And ridiculously exciting for me.

An obsession with caterpillars has surfaced.

Dad came home from work with three rather large caterpillars this week.

After some research we found they eat primrose and burrow down in sand to do their metamorphosis into a rather large moth.

So we now have a terrarium on out dinning room table and I'm left to make sure they're fed.

Ahhhh parenthood.

Miss Smiles is really getting strong.

And she's really sessing out patterns and toys and grabbing at them.

She planted a rather large, accidental slobbery kiss on her big sister. Who squealed with delight.

Teething Day.

Jenn and Dave are visiting with Z for the next few weeks. The girls are adorable together.

And Z has shared her passion for ballet with Piper.

Neighbors and Aunties and of course...more boogies.

Miss Moxie continues to smile and giggle and has even started to "chat"
She's so good at lifting her head and insists on standing all the time. So I had Josh pull out the jumper.
She loves it and Piper loves sitting next to her showing her the toys and " helping her" bounce.

Wow.
Ya.
So two kids.
Two kids means you're not always watching both.
Two kids means sometimes, just sometimes, if one is quiet and happy you ignore what might be getting distroyed in the name of having a moment to attend to the others immediate needs.

Piper came in from mud play and got herself in the shower. Happily playing in there I could nurse her sister, then deal with a huge blow out and some laundry. It wasn't until Josh went to give Piper her nightly bath that he brought my attention to the state of our white grout.

Hey.
She was happy.

We 'be been having a ball over across the street.

Piper loves Kiahi's costume stash.

And light sabors

And the Mosquitos are out.
So we're getting creative indoors.

Then - Aunties Auntie Everywhere!

It's really too bad they arrived to more snot, high winds and Mosquitos

But Aunt Amy is smart, and came prepared.

Awesome paper dolls, color projects and lots and lots of nail polish!

Uncle Gary came to help a Josh with the back porch.

Piper helped.

And while Piper learned about sawdust and wind.

I got some much needed sister time and some help with Moxie.

The Girls!!!!

Ya- house bound, but good times.

While Piper is now over her boogies, she managed to share them with her sister and Aunt Amy.
Poor Moxie is on her third cold in two months. This one has been rougher than the last ones. It came with screaming. :(
But she's bouncing back. Now I just hope we didn't scare Aunt Amy off from never visiting the toddler house of plague again.
