Life with Piper has been quite busy as of late.
Most days I feel like I'm wrasslin' a greased pig at the state fair.
Wiggle wiggle wiggle.
Flip, wiggle, crawl, flip, wiggle, wiggle stand, fall, crawl...
She's faster on her hands an knees and when pulling to stand, she now often lets go of whatever she pulled up on. She is very aware and started calling for us. The other afternoon I could hear her calling for me. I thought she was just using the sound to mellow out as she fell asleep. But after awhile she started in calling for Josh too. I went in to her room and she was standing up holding on to the side of the crib.
I knew it would happen sometime soon, she's been pulling up on everything-
but calling for us? That I didn't expect.
She loves the oldies Christmas station on the radio these days and books that she can move or touch anything is a big hit. Books in general are a huge hit.
She can last through tons and tons of them three times a day.
Long ones too.
As long as there is a rhyme -she goes crazy for them. The original Night Before Christmas is big right now actually.
Tonight she kept reaching for more at bedtime, already pulling that trick!
Today Grammy Eileen came to play so I could go and do some much needed dancing with Katie. When I came home Piper was all giggles and faces (so many funny facial expressions) and having a grand time with Grammy Eileen who reported Piper said "Kitty."
I knew it was coming. She was really really close. I even told our friend Johnny Day just yesterday I knew it was coming. But I wasn't expecting what happened...
After Grammy Eileen went home Piper started chasing Ansel around the house calling
"Kitty" "Kitty" "Kitty"
When he would get out of sight she would stop and play with whatever was there.
Once he showed up again (he likes to tease her) she would perk up and start in again.
"Kitty" "Kitty" " Kitty"
So...back to little Miss Wiggle Pants...
You know how everyone says "oh give them a pot and pan"?
Um.
2 seconds.
if that, some days.
nom nom nom
forget the food, I'll just eat the fridge.
Whatcha doing Mom?
Making you homemade sweet potato fries sweet pea
Maybe I'll just look in here while you're not looking...
Who me? What?
Nothin'...
Fine, I'll go back to the pans...
Or maybe the cat water?
Your shoes?
ooo....this craft project box you hid in the office!
Wait! Is that dirt and glass?
sweeeeet!
This is her current assumed position.
She hangs at the window and calls,
"Da-ty" "Daaa-ty"
So finally I put her in the living room with some boxes. Drove Josh crazy, but I figure she loves it and heck, might aid in some creative play!
Honestly most of the previous photos all happened in a span of about 15 minutes.
The next day I was making soup and she was into everything again (surprise surprise)
so I gave her a potato.
She loved it
She got more out of it than I thought, but handled it well.
She's just too much fun!
...if you can put aside anything you needed or wanted to get done and roll with the punches...
and I'm happy to do just that.
A Big BIG BIG Thank You to our friend Teanna who stopped by with some "stand up" toys.
She loves them!
She crawls back and forth between them periodically through the day.
fewww....
