Halloween

Well she is a little Love Bug...

And a sweet little Pumpkin...

And a giggle monster for sure...

But really what she is...

is a
SUPER BABY!

Able to leep dirty diapers in a single bound!

The shoes were a big hit. She is way into silver these days.

Whats scarier than anything this Halloween?
How quick Piper can get around these days - every day brings more activity and sounds.
Although it may not be a standard run of the mill crawl - girl can cover some ground.
More and more she's ending up in places I wouldn't expect. And fast.

Was a good day though.
Today at her nap I was singing to her like I always do before I put her down and she was belly laughing at me the whole time. I gave up and started laughing right along with her.

Quirks and Smiles

There are a things Josh wanted to make sure I posted.
Those little quirks that may or may not hang around.

Like rotating her feet clock wise when she's content (I do it counter clockwise)

Tapping her foot on the ground as she plays on the floor,

and this

Piper's new smile.

She scrunches up her nose because she sees people's reaction to it
And then laughs when they laugh.

Josh and I are in awe at how blessed we are.
Piper is an absolute joy who just keeps getting funnier and sweeter as time goes by.
Today I took her to Katie's dance space (hence the super cool mirror) and for an hour and a half she played, sang to herself and crawled around while we danced.
Stopping only to watch us.
I'm thrilled.
I wanted to be able to expose her to different situations. I wanted her to grow up around dance and other forms of art. But to have her at 7.5 months be so content in such a situation...
My heart is bursting.

Super Stinking Cute Eh?
Cousin Betsy made these and we all love love love them.
There are some pants too, but ehem - those need to be washed
before I can photograph her in them.
And the sleep sac - oh the sleep sac I'll have to get a photo of too.
But right now she's in it.
sound asleep
in bed.

And once and awhile these days - she sleeps through the night!
7 to 7
I'm not attached to it because it's not often enough to be the norm, but all that aside-
ya, she's a rockstar

Middle Earth Farm

Also Known As
Grammy and Grandpa's house!

This Sunday we took advantage of the new longer afternoon wake time
and took Piper out to see the Farm.
She loved it!

The goats were scared of her!
But a few treats...

And they warmed up to her.

Amazement and Smiles Abound!

There's a bunny in that cage.

Grandpa helped her get a good look.

So much to look at! Hey, whats that over there?

Ducks!

They weren't too into Piper either, but she was sure into them!

And time for bed...

Costumes

Halloween is almost upon us and Piper has 4 costumes to choose from,
and no place to go for her first Halloween.

This week I came down stairs after Josh and Piper had been up for a little while and found this...

Josh had put Piper in the pumpkin costume (over her jam jams mind you)
that Grandma Kane had sent.

She was sitting in the middle of the living room by herself.
She chews on the pacifiers she never used these days. Great teethers apparently.

Of course she had to call her Aunt Amy right away and tell her what her Dad did to her.
(Amy bought Piper the phone ;-)

More fun with friends

Just a few images from Piper's play date with Jonah today.
They are really comfortable with each other.
Other than us Moms playing interference with the grabs, all goes quite smoothly.

Speaking of grabs...hey there Buddy, watch it!

And kisses? Really?

It was Piper's turn to steal his toy this time.

A sense of humor

Piper is developing quite the sense of humor.
I don't even know how to describe it.
But I'll try.
She uses anticipation and deadpan looks to play a game of fake out. So she leans in to you averting her eyes with a deadpan look, slowly slowly...then starts laughing once she's basically right on you.
It's a sophisticated move in my book.
She may be taking her time to fully crawl, but in her spare time she's working on getting laughs.

These photos are of playtime with Dad. I've tried to capture her humor on video, but she gets distracted and stops doing it. But trust me. She's hilarious.
She's also been "talking" a lot. Carrying on quite the conversation of sounds with a singing kind of flow to her speech.
