Piper's First Christmas

"Merry Christmas Baby Pipe-oo"
- Cousin Aowyn, 2.5 years old

Well...
It will be a memorable one, that is for sure.

Santa brought the flu this year.

I woke up at 12:45am and he had already come and I found mine.
7am Piper got up she found hers.

Thanks Santa.

Luckily she didn't get as sick as I did, but it was still so so sad.

But she did rally.
Sweet little thing.

Our Elf on the Shelf arrived to watch over Piper over the coming years.

Peppermint is good for tummies, right?

(the wrapper is still on it - no sugar yet)

Getting this opening presents thing down!

Aunt Sandi sent a sweet bear named Oliver.

Piper heart Oliver
After a long sick day we tabled the gifts until later.

The next day, still not feeling quite right, Piper opened her gift from Grandma Leslie.

oooo a bow for when she gets older, she is very excited about this! She points to it all the time.

Grandma Sally made a super cool Dr. Seuss quilt - Piper was excited and confused.
Wait...isn't this from my super cool books? But this is soft!

Another box for me?

You shouldn't have!

Maybe I can ride it!
woooweeeee!

COOL! Grandma Leslie made a Raggedy Ann!

That night Ansel couldn't stand waiting and opened his (and Imogine's) gift from his cousins Daphne and Fred. Thanks Guys!! And who said Dogs and Cats can't get along.

The next day everyone was feeling better so
Grandpa, Grammy Eileen and Uncle Tim came to visit.

A WAGGON! Soooooo Cool!
Thank you Grammy and Grandpa!

The last week or so has seen so much change...
Piper now walks along the furniture, points and has book preferences. She cries out for more books if she's not done and understands a few of the signs we use
as well as when you shake your head "no."
She's pulling to stand in the middle of the room and not holding on.
No steps yet, which is just fine, she can take her time.
In the mean time she has refined her crawling and is a perfect right left right,
and quite fast I might add. Perfect for cognitive development.
Keep it going sweet pea, you're doing great!

Party Time

Tis the season for...
Parties!
Birthday Parties, Solstice Parties, Christmas Parties
We are rackin' 'em in!

We went to Aunt Katie and Uncle Bob's for a breakfast Solstice gathering on Wed. and Fisher AND Aoife were there. Piper was in heaven!

Fisher helping Piper open her presents from Aoife.

In between gatherings Piper started contemplating a future in Emergency Services.
She is
OBSESSED
with the radios she can now reach.

She's sweet, funny and smart - I think she would do great.
And it does run in the family!

Next up was the Rocky - Krissy Clan's Christmas party.

We lent CeCe and Flower's little brother Quin Piper's old play gym. A big hit!

And then Miwa came...

And Fisher, and Naromi, and Minami and.... well, lets just say
the parents were out numbered by a huge margin.

And here we are
Christmas Eve on Piper's First Christmas.
She spent the afternoon With Grammy and Grandpa while Josh and I worked on the studio.
She had a ball!

Later we talked to Grandma Les, Great Grandma Kane and Grandpa David.
And Piper held her own with singing and squeals in the background.

(Josh put the outfit together, I love it)

Night Night Sweet Piper, sleep tight!

More sounds, More teeth, more...

Fun!

Another busy week.

Piper is 9 months old as of this last week and got another tooth for her birthday.
So that is 8 total and I know another is on the way.

She is standing without holding anything more and more. If you hold her hands she'll even take steps. But these days it is all about climbing the stairs, finding things she's not suposed to have and eating anything she can find on the floor.

Speaking of that.

This week she's been eating Cherrios and drinking water from a sippy cup.
She's getting so big!

We got a little outdoor time.
We need to get some better outerwear for her before we do too much more.
It is just too cold these days!

Cover those ears!

Don't worry, I was right there. And her grin was well worth the worry it cause me.

and
She's just a little excited about the box that came from her Aunties Amy and Sandi this week...
