More Boogies More Teeth

Ahh yes... More boogies.
This time Moxie was hit the hardest.
The rest of us barely got them.
But she was slammed. And with another front tooth cutting... Poor thing.

Piper knows the sounds of most of the letters and is counting to 30.

I love how she holds her finger down to show "four"

Tattoos are still strong, though forgotten most days. Grandma Les sent some awesome glitter dragonfly ones. Those she didn't forget. But now we've moved on to Spider-Man.

Amazing this kid.

Nose full of snot, massive tooth and she's still smiling.

Piper's thankful list from school

I couldn't handle our couch shedding leather on the girls anymore so I bought a cover.
No point in doing anything permanent until they're older.

Moxie is making her way around the livingroom.
Slowly.
We're gonna be in for it.
She is far more into stuff than Piper ever was.

Trolls and Mittens

This week is all about trolls.

Josh started telling Piper stories and he started with trolls and now she's hooked.

He's running out of troll related ideas and she's not interested in any other kind of story.

Moxie is all about practicing her crawling and she's getting some momentum forward now!

We had our first snow. And although it wasn't much, Piper was more than happy to get bundled this year and go out. I'm on a mission for mittens. The real deal with a waterproof shell. She went through 5 pairs of mittens in 30 min.
Doesn't like to have her hands wet and cold apparently.

Can't blame her.

Hugs

So Josh plays a hugging game with Piper - she runs to him and he tries to catch her in a hug. We have Moxie sit next to him and last night she reached her arms up when he did to get a Piper hug.

Stinking cute.

One big hunkin' front tooth cut, one right behind - that's three in a row...
These big ones really hurt :(
We've had some rough nights.

Distractions

Another beautiful week here in the mountains. Fall is here, but the bulk of the day finds us in 60 degree weather.

Perfect for play dates. Our dear Saoirse is rocking some serious teething, so we've been helping in the "operation distract the teething toddler" efforts.

Park dates, tea parties and the pool.
Busy we have been.

It also meant stucco on the house! It looks awesome. Piper was intrigued with the Spanish speaking stucco crew. She learns Spanish at school so the concept of other languages is mind blowing.

We're hitting some pretty funny questions too. Do birds have butts? And an all around interest in everything. Beaver homes, bug pee and why do animals just poop anywhere?

A meeting of the fairies...

Random coughs here and there, but the boogies are gone and that top front right tooth of Moxie's is just starting to cut. It's a big 'un so I'm expecting some early mornings this week.

Piper rocked the pool today. Jumping under the water and floating on her back - with no floaties! She asked to take them off and then started jumping and going under. Laughing and spinning. Big girl! She doesn't get the kicking and arm movements to stay afloat- but the first stages of swimming are there for sure.

Moxie hung out in her floatie chewing her fingers and giggling the whole time.

Movies and Boogies

Well...we are on week 2 of Moxie boogies.
She's sleeping "better"
But still, sheesh. Will they ever stop??
She has halfway cut that tooth and has two more right behind it.
Hoping it's the teeth causing all this issue, because there is a huge outbreak of pertussis in town.

No coughing so far, but we're watching.
Because she's most certainly been exposed and it all starts with boogies.

We're thinking that's what we had last winter, so hopefully she's in the clear with Momma Milk anti-bodies. Piper was fully vacinated for it, but still got it. But Moxie is too young and at an age where she's not developed enough muscle tone to productively cough. So good vibes out there that we dodge this one.

She's just as happy as ever despite the boogies and teeth. She's blowing rasberries and can cover some serious ground in reverse.

Mimi and Papa took Moxie last night so we could rock Piper's world with her first movie in a theater.

She did awesome! Not a peep. Sat quietly the whole time and spent the ride home processing.
Book of Life is a sweet film - a love story with the day of the dead as a background.
Perfect for a little girl who loves the spooky stuff.

Bad Mom

Piper got mad at me tonight for telling her it was bath time and called me a bad mom.

She put it together on her own that she may have hurt my feelings. She took me into her room sat me on her bed and asked if we could talk about it. She put her arm around me and apologized over and over and asked how I was feeling about it. I told her I was okay and I appreciated her checking in. She said, " I got really mad Mom- but I don't mean it and I'll never hurt your feelings again."
I said Piper, you will hurt my feelings, and I'll hurt yours. But I love you and I'll always forgive you, no matter what.
At which point she says, " I'm yours forever, and Moxie is mine forever, and Daddy is mine forever and Daddy is yours forever and some day when you go outside a fox will take you and I'll send Daddy out to get you and he'll bring you back and we'll all be happy."

Happy Halloween!
