Mellow Stimulations

Mellow week here in the mountains.

At Mabon (aka autumn equinox) we pulled out the Halloween boxes.
I have saved all my wigs over the years. Lots of giggles with these in the mix.

Here Piper is very seriously telling me she can't look up for a photo, she's coloring!

Moxie is solid now. Sit her down and she's staying up for long periods of time. Until something catches her attention and she turns to look.

We had gotten in the habit of not reading as much as we had. So I pulled out the meditation cushions, built a fort, and unearthed Aunt Amy's serendipity books.
Hours. Literally Piper would return home from school and we'd sit in the sun, fall breeze light on the air and we'd read on and off until dinner. Moxie loves it because in her bouncer she's higher than us. She jumps and giggles and Piper and I read and cuddle.
Heaven.

Moxie is developing a little top curl! It's not as tight as Piper's were, but stinking cute just the same. But hard to photograph.

The big haps this week was the wedding of our dear friends daughter. Inessa and Lawrence were married this evening.
Stunning!
Well... What I saw of it.

Ah the joys...
Moxie got overstimulated so I'm back at home while Piper lives it up with her Dad. To be fair he campaigned hard to come back for me. But Piper needed a Daddy date, and I knew it.
Wish us luck. Little Miss up at the crack of dawn, won't take a nap, highly effected by lack of sleep is running wild over there. Needs to happen once and awhile, stretch those muscles- but good lord I hope she sleeps in.

Small Rewards

I took both girls to Alamosa to go shopping today.
I think it's good for us to stretch those muscles together. They both did stunning.
Piper stuck close and helped and listened. No one cried there or back!
So when she had enough of the car we stopped at the park for a few.

Moxie's first swing

And Piper is getting crazy good at climbing on the jungle gym.

Some views from school

These were posted on the school Facebook page...

I'm obsessed with this piece Piper brought home

Show Off

Moxie is ready to show off her chompes!

And her sitting!

Not yet at the set her down and she's solid phase, but darn close.

She's pretty excited about it.

No doubt about it.
More teeth are coming in soon.
Drooling and chewing on everything.
And biting me.

Ice skates and Owls

This is what Piper thinks ice skates look like.

See, Papa has been talking about building and ice ring at their house this winter, and it's left quite an impression.

Piper is full of love.
"Moxie Mada-win Moo, I love you"
Is sung all day.
She's started trying to include her more.
Like a turn on the sit n spin.

And a turn on the bouncy unicorn.

I'll remind them of this in
A few years ;)

Well, the creek is dry.

So Piper has been climbing instead.

Yesterday we heard a huge crack from the forest. After dinner we all went out. Oh how I wish I had remembered my phone. Josh had Piper on his shoulders and Moxie in the baby carrier. And we found the owl... Huge, beautiful - amazing.

We also found the downed cottonwood.
Whoa.

A friend shared harvest

And Piper immediately wanted to make fennel wings.
