Easter, Among other big events in our lives...

We said goodbye to our sweet Ansel this last week.
Almost 15 years he shared his life with us, and we feel grateful for the time we had.
He will be missed.
Piper has yet to ask about him, she's so in the moment I don't think she's noticed.
Well, that and all the other things going on around here...

School.
Don't let the face fool you...

she LOVES it.
Not a single tear shed - she is into it.
"Wicky's House, or Wicky's School"
If I so much as mention it in the morning, she's ready to go. Its a great motivator to get her dressed.
Here's hoping that kind of school excitement sticks!

Oh ya, and then there is this...

Thats right, after a very long wait we are closer than ever to our dreams...
Closing is the 25th.
yes.
That is right.
this month.
well, if all goes well. As we ll know, its not over till its over.
We just had the inspection and unless things go terribly awry we will be moving the house and studio into storage and renting for awhile while we build again.

feewww..

but until then we carry on...

Gathering everything into one place is the big thing to do.
Have to get her focused on that with a box this next week.

Imogine has decided to be a little more affectionate in Ansel's absence.

Easter was lovely.
After an egg hunt at home we went to Mimi and Bapa's for a yummy dinner.

Piper and candy don't mix so well... hello freak out.
And not the funny kind, the screaming kind.
whoa.

She wanted to open each one and eat the candy every time.
ya...gonna have to work on that.
Save it for later?
Pa-sha!

About the only things Piper is totally into these days is school and being outside playing with water.

oh...and being naked.

Tonight I had one of those classic moments I hope to never forget. The kind you can't stop to photograph or it will be lost forever and never come back.
Best to soak it up and write it down rather than miss it completely.
Josh was at jujitsu and Piper and I were at the end of her tub time. I'm on our bed looking at the mountain, just loving the view and I said,
"Piper, do you want to come up and watch the mountain with me? "
no.
Surprise, surprise.
She wiggles off the bed nude as can be and runs to the window, I can see this vast expanse of mountain with my little girl standing in front of it.
Red curls glowing in the late afternoon light.

She beings to sing.

I don't know what she was singing, just tones and nonsense, she's singing to the mountain.
'She was born here,' I think.
In this room.
In front of those mountains.
Just as I'm having my moment she runs over to Josh's closet and pulls out his large Mexican sun hat. She puts it on, and starts dancing.
Dancing and singing she's lost in the joy of her Daddy's oversized hat.
I was absorbed in laugher at this classic toddler moment.

You can't photograph that.
You have to be with that.
