Thank you Uncle Dave for the idea. He did the cutest stinkin' trailer of Z
and I just couldn't help myself... didn't have a lot of time to get it "just so" but you get the point.

and here's the clip uncut

Front Range Weekend

Before we took off for the weekend Piper thought she'd stretch her legs...

And she did great! The drive up was a bit rough in places, but we can all feel the difference a few months makes. After loading up the car with everything I could think of (though I managed to forget some biggies) we headed to the Front Range for a birthday weekend for me.

First off, we had to catch a visit with Jenn, Dave and Z...

Are they stinking cute, or what?

Sweet Z going with the flow, sharing toys...

And yes, after the Pearl Street Mall, we took the girls to Sushi.

Cooked for her, but not for me!

Love this. While Jenn ran to the post office, Josh took kid duty.

After that, back to the Auntie's house to play!

Dog Toys!

And a dog!

Meet Fred, the newest addition to the family.

Fast friends.
Freddie was awesome with Piper and she loved him to death.

I caught her staring into space, something she does frequently.
I do too.
What can I say.

Only the Aunties would have a huge gold pig.

Walking with Aunt Amy
and then...
The Park!

The next day Piper hung out with Da-da while Aunt Amy and I got every kind of pampering imaginable. It was lovely!
An upon our return?
Piper was unfazed.
As if I had been there all day.
Getting so big this one.

The trip ended with a little book store time.
The ride back was MUCH better than last time. Not without tears,
but much better just the same. We even had giggles as we drove back into town.
A lovely weekend indeed!

Next up Piper's Birthday!
I've been planing and scheming for months now,
but I still can't believe her big day is just around the corner.

Whistling Dixie

Another busy week here in the Mountains.

Piper is loving the play set Fisher handed down, Thank you! She even says, "whee"
when she goes down the slide. In a monotone voice of course, which cracks me up.

We have to keep this girl moving. Loves to visit out and about and go for hikes.
But the walking?
Well, she doesn't really have time for that.
All the stories about how kids go from a step to running in a week isn't happening over here.
But thats okay, she's just pacing herself.

This last week Piper got a private Taiko concert
- oh my goodness the girl was dancing out of my arms.
And a private world, jazz concert in my studio (the artists stayed with us) and she loved it.
What a lucky girl to be exposed to so much in such a beautiful location.

Aunt Amy has gotten Piper bundled proper and we've been enjoying almost daily hikes.

Piper and Jonah have been playing a lot lately. A few times a week.
They are too stinkin' cute.
Piper has been beating him up though, so we're working on that.
Good thing he's a good natured guy...

I didn't get a photo, but ... imagine her standing...

Can you see it? Ya, she used her little rock climber fingers to pull to stand in the windowsill.

Piper with her Granny Lynn.
Lynn comes over every week to play and Piper adores her.
Granny Lynn was the friend who years ago told me, "Come on, have a baby it'll be fun."
So it's great to have her come and play!

Okay, wondering about the title of this post?
Well here you have it.

She whistles constantly.
I found out Aoife whistles for Yoda and so Piper has taken to doing the same
when she can't see him.

She's also following other simple commands.
Piper where is your raccoon? Is followed by her making a bee-line to her toy.
She still ignores me when I ask her to come to me,
but I think that has to do with something else...

She says something that sounds like "Dog", "Door" and she's refined her "Kitty"
I think she's saying more than I've caught on,
I think I need to listen closer to what I think is babble.

11 Months Old

For her 11th Birthday, DaDa got her dressed...

Yep, those are leg warmers on her arms and her lace pants under her skirt,
she looked awesome!
Almost as if she had picked it out herself.
And he got a good laugh out of me, which was his goal.

And Piper's goal was to explore every inch of her surroundings...
Happy Birthday Sweetums - you're almost there!

Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day from Miss Piper!

She put on her snazzy pants for the occasion.

Never wasting an opportunity to explore...

Or giggle...

Such a sweetie

After a yummy morning nap Piper and I met Jonah and his Mom Sarah for lunch.
No photos unfortunately, we were too busy dodging sweet potato fries.

I do believe that we are heading out of whatever phase we were in last month.
Piper isn't hanging on me as much and is less scared of people. She is very vocal and will mimic sounds, which is a good sign of comfort. Still takes her a moment to warm to people, but at least she's not hanging on me for dear life.
Sure it might come and go, but it sure is nice to have a break.

Other new tricks in the last week include her own version of whistling
(she inhales as she does it, but the sound is pretty darn good)
and the cutest little butt wiggle you ever did see.

Later after another yummy nap we met up with Jonah and Sarah for some play time and a walk.

Sharing Organic, Gluten-Free, GMO-Free Kale Poofs,
because thats what Crestone Kids do.

I was feelin' the love, as both kids were climbing all over me.

And a few Valentines Day Giggles to end the day with.
Love you Sweet Pea!
